QUOTE
And if some god batters me far out on the wine-blue water, I will endure it, keeping a stubborn spirit inside me, for already I have suffered much and done much hard work on the waves and in the fighting.

— Homer, The Odyssey (Book 5, trans. Lattimore)

Lately I've been learning to loosen my grip — to trust the universe, or the gods, or whatever name fits, to carry me where I need to go. Watching Odysseus relinquish control and give himself to the sea on his way home was a powerful image of exactly that, and it stayed with me.
